SDK: Graticule

Currently under development is an API to construct a graticule, this is primarily for our CAD customers but we thought that this might be useful for others to. The options are passed as parameters to the constructor and then a call to create the graticule will return a collection of GeoMapElement’s. You can then decide how you want to construct the graphics in your system or use GML!

Below shows two graticules constructed with FPAsssistant and then saved as GML to be imported into QGIS as a vector layer.

Here is an early screen shot of the unit tests the dev team uses to develop the graticule tool.

The graticules seem to be drawing as we want at the moment so we’ll now move on to added ticks and then onto textual labels.

Watch this space for the finished SDK call soon, if you have any questions or want to suggest a feature then please make contact. We do plan to offer a Grid tool as well in the near future.
